Songs in Heaven

We are commanded to sing. “Speak to one another with psalms, hymns, and spiritual

songs. Sing and make music in your hearts to the Lord” (Ephesians 5:19). Singing is part of our

worship to God and the New Testament Christians did this as part of their worship service. I

have often wondered about heaven and what goes on there. In the book of Revelation, we get

some glimpses of events that are witnessed by John during his vision. In particular we see that

the heavenly beings are worshiping God in song. In Revelation 15:3-4 we see a song recorded

that is being sung, it is called “The Song of Moses the Servant of God and the Song of the

Lamb”.

“Great and marvelous are Your deeds,

Lord God Almighty.

Just and true are Your ways,

King of the nations.

Who will not fear You, Lord,

and bring glory to Your name?

For You alone are holy.

All nations will come and worship before You,

for Your righteous acts have been revealed.”

I look forward to learning this song. How great and wonderful is our God. It is very

important for us to partake in the singing service. “Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth.

Worship the Lord with gladness; come before him with joyful songs” (Psalms 100: 1,2). ~B.
